Editorial policy
Global News Collective aims to make international affairs understandable without making complex subjects sound simpler than they are. Our editorial choices favour clarity, context and explicit limits.
Accuracy and context
We check names, definitions and descriptions against reliable, relevant material before publication. We distinguish established facts from interpretation, identify uncertainty where it matters, and avoid presenting one country, institution or viewpoint as the whole story. If a subject changes, we review explanations that may no longer describe it accurately.
Independence and partnerships
Editorial decisions are made for readers, not as a condition of a partnership. Any sponsored or partner material is labelled clearly where it appears, and its relationship to a partner is disclosed in plain language. A partnership does not guarantee favourable coverage or influence the conclusions of editorial work.
Corrections
Readers can report a possible error through the Contact page. We assess specific claims, check the relevant context and correct material when warranted. Significant changes are noted with the article so readers can see that an explanation has been amended.
Illustrations
Some illustrations may be generated with artificial intelligence. Where that is the case, we label the image so readers can distinguish an illustrative visual from documentary photography.
Context comes before certainty
International affairs rarely fit into one headline. We explain the actors, terms and relationships that help make a story understandable.
